Always Check the Price
On Saturday I went out for a celebratory dinner. While I was prepared to spend a fair price for a special meal, one thing surprised me. The restaurant had a menu with “Today’s Specials”. But all these dishes did not have the prices written on them (and they were not cheap). Of course, in this situation you could just ask the staff how much something costs. But it is one of those situations where you need to be careful about what you are paying for.
This can also be seen in general costs that have been on the rise recently. I have found my purchases at my local supermarket or convenience store going up in price and not paying enough attention to realize until I have reached the counter. Last week I went to 7/11 to get some things I have bought many times before, only to realize this time it cost me over 1000 yen for the first time. I was fairly surprised.
I feel in these times it is more important than ever to check the price of what you are buying. So be careful when you are out eating or shopping!
