Equine Cuisine

Lately there's been a lot of news about horse meat in Europe.  Yesterday, I saw this article about IKEA. It seems that horse meat was found in IKEA's Swedish meatballs. 

Many countries include horse in their diet.  In Japan, many people eat basashi as a kind of specialty food.  I've had it before, and I thought it was very good.  

But in some places, people think of horses as pets, not food.  To those people, the idea of eating horse meat is disgusting.  So a lot of people in Europe are shocked at the horse meat scandal.
