The Moving Experience

I moved to a new apartment last week, and a lot of my focus recently was on preparing for the move. I have not actually moved that many times in my life. I grew up and lived in the same house until I came to Japan (I briefly lived in Australia when I was a child, only to go back to my house after). And here, my new apartment is only the third place I have lived in.

The process of moving is stressful. There are so many different things to worry about, and I am the kind of person who stresses a lot about many small things. There are a lot of different people to contact, and companies to correspond with. It makes it hard for me to relax.

Luckily now I have moved in, and it is all finished. I do not have much to worry about right now, so I am hoping to relax and enjoy my summer this year. My new neighborhood is quite new and has a lot of shops. Especially there are lot of different places to eat at. It is nice to have a new environment as I used to live so close to NEO and spent a lot of time in the same area. The commute is longer, but it is not so bad. It is also my first time not living on the first floor, which is a new experience. It is not perfect though, there are a lot of spiders around outside, noisy frogs at night, and it is even close to a train line. Surprisingly the noise is not bothering me much so far.

There are still a lot of things to do for my new apartment, and a bit of unpacking to finish, but I am settling in well.
