Cookie Time!
A few months ago when I went to Seijo Ishii in Okayama station I noticed a familiar sight. Small ‘Cookie Time’ cookies were being sold in the snack aisle. ‘Cookie Time’ is a brand of cookies from New Zealand which I grew up with. While the ones being sold in the Seijo Ishii were much smaller than I was used to, it was nice to discover a snack from New Zealand being sold in Japan none the less.
Recently, the brand seems to have been expanding within Japan. A friend of mine living in Wakayama prefecture posted that he found them in his small countryside town’s local convenience store. My father also had a box of cookies shipped to my apartment as a late birthday present. After a quick google search, I discovered there is even a Cookie Time bar in Tokyo. They sell all kinds of cookies, and even cookie ice cream. I hope sometime in the future I will be able to go there.
So, if you come across these cookies somewhere in Japan, I recommend them. They are delicious!
