Last month, I went to Beppu for the first time. Beppu is a small town in Oita with lots of natural hot springs. The most interesting thing I did there was the Jigoku Meguri, sometimes called the “Hell Tour” in English. Each hot spring on the tour is interesting in a different way, and the vibrant colors are good for photos. Here’s what I saw.

In addition to the Hells of Beppu, there’s a lot of good food, beautiful countryside scenes, and of course, public baths where you can go to relax after a busy day. If you’ve never been to Beppu, it’s worth a visit!
